Cancer Public Forum: Dr Wong Pak Kai shared tips to prevent cancer

Cancer normally will attack people who are not protected against it and it will eventually leave serious consequences if it is not detected in time.

Consultant Colorectal Surgery, Dr Michael Wong Pak Kai in a public forum stated that among many cancers, colorectal cancer is extremely harmful and consider to be the most cunning because it always 'hides' in a person bad life habits.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) data, he said, the rate of Chinese suffering from colorectal cancer is higher than other ethnic groups, and in our country itself, colorectal cancer affects an average of 1 in 100,000 people and it shouldn't treated lightly.

He pointed out that colorectal cancer normally will attack those who are obese, anemic, smokers, alcoholics, lack of exercise, poor diet and those who with family history of the disease, hence, these group of people should pay more attention on their health.

He also stated the best treatment for cancer is early detection, at the same time, he advice that balance health diet, stop smoking and drinking, as well as frequent excercise can help to reduce the risk of cancer.
