Meet Our Anatomical Pathologists
Anatomical pathology is a specialised medical field focused on diagnosing diseases through the examination of tissues and organs. Using advanced techniques such as microscopy, pathologists analyse samples obtained through procedures like biopsies, including cancer biopsies and bone marrow tests. These diagnostic tests are crucial for the accurate diagnosis of diseases, particularly cancer, and other serious conditions.
Anatomical pathologists in Malaysia work closely with other specialists to perform biopsies and bone marrow aspiration, providing essential insights into the bone marrow biopsy process and the diagnosis of diseases. Autopsies are also a part of anatomical pathology, helping to determine the cause of death and study disease progression. Laboratory pathologists play a key role in diagnostic testing, often collaborating with molecular pathology experts to identify specific markers of disease.
With their expertise, anatomical pathologists contribute significantly to patient care, ensuring accurate diagnoses and guiding appropriate treatment plans for better health outcomes.
